From September 14 to 16, Corey Hogan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, attended the G20 Energy Abundance Ministerial Meeting in Houston, Texas, where he joined energy ministers to discuss energy security, affordability, investment and innovation and to reinforce Canada’s role as a reliable and trusted global energy supplier. The G20’s membership represents about two-thirds of the world’s population, over 89 percent of world GDP and over 79 percent of global trade. The G20 is a key forum for Canadian trade: over 90 percent of Canada’s bilateral merchandise trade comes from G20 countries, and nine of Canada’s top ten trading partners are members of the G20.
