We are now well into the implementation of the Online Streaming Act, having launched four proceedings and, as of this morning, issued four decisions. And we are advancing the implementation of the Online News Act.

His Excellency Michel Miraillet, Ambassador of France to Canada, Yvon Lapierre, Mayor of Dieppe, and a delegation of Second World War Veterans will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Dieppe Cenotaph to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.

During their meeting, the Ministers, ICAO Council President Sciacchitano and ICAO Secretary General Salazar acknowledged that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the signing of the Chicago Convention, ICAO’s founding document.

Today, the Government of Canada and the Public Service Alliance of Canada entered into mediated negotiations with the goal of reaching an agreement on a renewed collective agreement for the Border Services Group.

As Canada’s Minister of National Defence, I draw great strength and encouragement by the crowd I see before me today and the conversations that we have shared.

We must work together urgently to make communities safer, to bring justice to survivors and families, and to dismantle the long-standing, systemic racism, misogyny, and discrimination created by over a century of colonization that has led to this tragic crisis in Canada.
