Government of Canada announces funding for Indigenous-led alternatives to incarceration in Manitoba

Today, the Honourable Rebecca Chartrand, Minister of Northern and Arctic Affairs and Minister responsible for the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, on behalf of the Honourable Gary Anandasangaree, Minister of Public Safety, announced $5 million in federal funding to the Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak (MKO) to support Indigenous-led alternatives to incarceration for First Nations individuals.
